SCAPA Gives Back With A Virtual Food Drive During Month Of August

Every dollar donated provides 10 meals!

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, food insecurity has become more prevalent across the world, including in our communities. Because of this, the South Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants  (SCAPA) Philanthropy Committee would like to focus on addressing food insecurity through a virtual drive with Feeding America.

Over 40 million people are served each year through the Feeding America nationwide network of food banks and SCAPA wants to help. We have started this fundraiser to allow children, families, and seniors to sit down at the table and share a meal. Every dollar you donate to Feeding America helps secure and distribute at least 12 pounds of food — the equivalent of 10 meals — through their nationwide network of food banks.

To support our efforts to end hunger in South Carolina and other communities across the nation, please click on DONATE.

SCAPA thanks you in advance and encourages you to share our event through your own social media channels. Also, if you are interested in setting up your own food drive to support SCAPA's event, contact Philanthropy Committee Chair Yvee Garcia at yvamgarc@ut.utm.edu

Feeding America is the leading domestic hunger relief organization with a nationwide network of 200 food banks. As individuals, charities, businesses and government, we all have a role to play in ensuring every family has enough to eat and the Feeding America network of food banks is leading the charge in communities across the country. Every dollar you give helps share 10 meals with families, children, and seniors across America.
