SCAPA’s Diversity Committee  

The Diversity Committee serves to advance the AAPAs commitment to all aspects of diversity on a local and state level. Our goal is to identify and help address the issues of racial disparities in healthcare in South Carolina.

The Diversity Committee shall:  

 

• Actively recruit minority students to pursue careers as Physician Assistants.
• Enhance and increase communication between SCAPA and the MUSC PA Program on issues of diversity.
• Promote a health literacy campaign in local elementary schools with the help of the AAPA.  
• Promote diversity-related CME by incorporating diversity presentations into SCAPA’s annual CME conference.
• Promote an inclusive environment that appreciates diversity.
• Identify and help address issues of race, ethnic and cultural diversity.
