Physician Assistants (PAs) are in a unique and interesting period in our profession. With the possibly of universal health care PAs will continue to be in high demand to help provide needed services. Increasing access to healthcare is one of many values a PA brings to a medical practice. SCAPAs Reimbursement and Legislative Committees will continue working extremely hard this year as we obtain reimbursement for surgical first assist services. SCAPA is also working hard to streamline the licensing policies and procedures for the PA’s of our state. I am excited about our upcoming Fall CME Conference which will be held once again at the Wild Dunes Resort in Isle of Palms, SC. The CME Committee along with our Executive Director work extremely hard to put together a wonderful program. I encourage every PA to attend and check out our fall conference. There will be many opportunities available to relax, places to eat and have fun after the classes each day. Enjoy your online visit with SCAPA, and feel free to please contact us and send your comments and suggestions to scapa@sc.rr.com. Thank you. Joseph A. Wehner, Jr., MSPAS, PA-C
Welcome to the South Carolina Academy of Physician Assistant (SCAPA) website. Over the past few years our Communications Committee has developed an information packed and user friendly website. We continue to update and add information to our site, so please visit frequently. When you place your courser over the tabs on the left side of the homepage a menu will appear making the site even more user friendly when trying to find information. In the past year the SCAPA website has had over 5,000 visits with hits from 47 states and 14 different countries.
